Justice Scalia reveals his true colors.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia shocked reporters. The Right wing Roman Catholic Justice was attending a mass in Boston. As he came out of the service a reporter for the Boston Herald asked him whether he faced questions regarding his impartiality over issues of separation of church and state.

Scalia raised his middle finger, a gesture which usually means "fuck you" while saying: "You know what I say to those people?"

Scalia's office is now denying the incident happened. Reporters on the scene say they witnessed it. And allegedly a photo of the incident was taken by a local Catholic publication. Others claim that Scalia used a gesture where one cups the hand under the chin and flicks the fingers backwards.

It matters little which gesture he used. Either way it indicates a disdain for the First Amendment to the constitution regarding separation of church and state.

I'm waiting for the Republicans to announce their new motto: "Strength through unity, unity through faith."

touche! What tghis world needs is more common sense like the justice's.

I am proud a man like him won't backdown to a naybob who wants to impose his own beliefs on the justice.

You don't like the truth don't ask him questions. you want to hear what you want to hear ask Ginsburg.

o one is imposing his beliefs on the justice but the justice, however, is imposing beliefs on us. He does not believe in separation of church and state as his action indicated. His job, as a justice, is not to impose his views but to interpret the constitution on the basis of what it says and is intended to do. The founders did believe in separation of church and state so whether Scalia likes it or not his job is to enforce the Constitution not his personal preferences.

I concur. I think Scalia is one that will overlook his own personal view versus Constitutional law. I am sure he has leaned toward the Constitution opposed to his personal views on more then one case in front of the court.

I am confident that you yourself would never impose your personal view over the law and wonder why you would doubt the ability of and the intellect of one like Scalia.

What is telling of a guy like Scalia is he has spent the last twenty years plus celebrating Thanksgiving with his best friend, Judge Ginsburg and her family. The two opposite poles on the bench.

The man is an intellect who happens to have a large dose of common sense in his quiver.
